Area Manager - Maintenance
Typical job description:
Is responsible for the maintenance activities including routine and turnaround maintenance of a group of process plants or a specified are of the chemical plant.
Key Processes:
The exact nature of the work will depend on the size of the employing organisation.
However, it will almost certainly involve:
- Manage maintenance activities in a major division of the chemical plant
- Manage planning and control of manpower to maintain an efficient and effective work area.
- Accountable for all planned and unplanned maintenance activities
- Line management responsibility for engineering staff
- Assists Maintenance Manager in development of maintenance strategy
- Responsible for ensuring that maintenance resources provide a productive, efficient and cost effective execution of maintenance schedules across work area
- Accountable for the safety of all personnel working within or visiting their area
Entry Level:
- Degree in Mechanical or Instrument/Electrical Engineering (or other relevant engineering discipline)
- Extensive experience in plant maintenance

Pay and conditions:
Salaries are in the range of 50,000GBP to 75,000GBP plus other allowances. Normal daywork hours and subject to weekend and public holiday on call duties.
Industry Standard:
- Degree in Mechanical or Instrument/Electrical Engineering (or other relevant engineering discipline)
- Extensive experience in plant maintenance
- Functional Skills IT Level 2
