Area Manager - Operations

The Area Manager - Operations is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of all plant and equipment under their span of control. They are also responsible for ensuring that all systems of work are carried out safely in accordance with regulatory and company policies and procedures. In addition they are responsible for ensuring that all products are produced within agreed specifications and that all personnel under their management are competent. The Area Manager - Operations must also operate within a cost effective environment.

However, it will almost certainly involve:
- responsible for the safe and efficient operation of all plant and equipment

Entry Level:
Relevant Degree or HNC/D / Foundation Degree - Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or Engineering related area

Average earnings of 39,000GBP.

NVQ level 4 management

Knowledge needed for the role:
- An understanding of the operation of plant and equipment involved in the production of chemical products.
- An understanding and knowledge of all regulatory requirements with regard to the production of chemical products.
- A knowledge of budgetary requirements including capital project and revenue project procurement procedures.
- A knowledge and understanding of the impact of failure of key systems and processes including loss of containment and threat to the environment.
